About this Venue

Situated on five hectares of rolling farmland and forest just outside of Bologna, this former barn is part of a larger estate that includes a manor house and a farmers cottage. In 2003, a Russian antiquarian inspired by his love for nature and the area fell in love with the estate and began renovations for a dynamic project that would eventually include a charming B&B as well as an event and social space.

The structure originally served as a wine making cellar where grapes were processed and the wine was bottled. The rustic bones and original materials of the barn have been skillfully updated to showcase the beauty of the structure’s spacious interiors with soaring beamed ceilings, polished concrete floors and original exposed brick work, all illuminated by massive walls of paned glass.

The interiors feature several beautiful and authentic antique fixtures and furnishings that perfectly complement its rustic, industrial appeal.

The restoration process involved special attention to eco-sustainability through renewable energy sources, photovoltaic systems, water catchment, phytoremediation and biomass heating systems.
